The Various Types of Bingo Machines

There are several types of machines that are meant to allow people to enjoy a fun game of bingo. Each machine varies in the way it operates and the advancement of its technology. However, all of these machines have their own merits. Comparatively speaking, digital bingo game machines are beginning to replace the electronic and mechanical machines of yesteryear that were designed to sit on a tabletop. The newer machines do not have motors, switches, light bulbs or motors. They are also not too difficult to install for those who are trained to do so and each machine is capable of running off of an IBM computer with at least Windows 2000.

Electronic Machines

Electronic bingo machines are usually seen in gaming halls and casinos around the world. The method in which they operate is similar to the manner in which slot machines operate and that is why many people call them bingo slot machines. However, the big difference between bingo electronic machines and typical slot machines is that the bingo versions use numbers instead of symbols. While these machines are banned in many states throughout the United States, they do have a large following in many European countries.

Integrated Machines

Integrated machines are free standing and are excellent for game play because they include many important aspects of the game, such as mixing, calculating jackpots, releasing bingo balls and displaying or calling bingo numbers. Most of the integrated machines are electronic in nature as they have specialized software already installed in order to show digital displays. Most machine bases are made from heavy plastic or durable wood as both of these materials extend a machine's lifespan.

Online Machines

Online “machines” are much like the integrated machines explained in detail above. But online machines are programmed with game application software that contains every feature needed to play bingo. Some of the main features included in online machines are random number generators, calling software to show or call each number created by the generator, a bingo board display numbers, a number board that tells players previously called numbers and a display for showing information such as game time, duration of game play, game ID and the current winning pattern. Developers of bingo programs spend countless hours designing, testing and tweaking the bingo software to make sure the game will run as designed during each and every game.
